MC AFFEE uninstaller

Delete registry values: 1. Click Start, Run, type regedit and click OK. 2. Navigate to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\VirusScan]. 3. Right-click the VirusScan key and select Delete. 4. Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run]. 5. Right-click the value ShStatEXE and select Delete. 6. Restart your computer. ‘McAfee Agent cannot be removed while it is in managed mode’ This made sense to me as McAfee was centrally managed from a server, though we were not given the admin password for the administration console by the previous IT support company. Solution: * Open CMII (admin rights needed) * Browse to C:Program FilesMcAfeeCommon Framework (Program Files (x86) if running a 64bit Operating System) * Run command – frminst.exe /remove=agent
